Garmin RV 770 LMT-S Routing?

I'm planning a trip across the Chesapeake Bay Tunnel Bridge (southbound) this May with my Beacon which is suppose to be 12' 11" in height. I pick it up in March, so I haven't been able to get a confirmed height. But let's assume for now that the height is 12'11" as stated. The tunnel's max stated ht. is 13'6".

I'm programming my trip in my Garmin RV 770 LMT-S GPS system, and it will not route me through the tunnel. Even when I drop the height to 12' and remove the propane bottles from my configuration. I know tractor trailers go through. I hate to ignore the gps because perhaps there is some other impassible obstacle on the southside...but I guess the GPS is just wrong, but why? Is there possibly another parameter that is causing the problem?

Yep, wasn't sure which forum was the best fit. At any rate, I've played with navigation preferences and determined that the Garmin is buggy. Have changed a parameter, got it to work. Turned it off, broke it again. Turned it back on, and it doesn't work. Inconsistent.

Always try and use the Garmin and Mapquest/Goggle for a second opinion. Also, there is a program called low clearance. Do not want a convertible Motor Home.

Yes, I've watched 11foot8.com.

For the record, I reset the Garmin to factory defaults, reloaded everything and it's allowing me to go through the tunnel now. I've been through the tunnel a few times in my car and even though it says that it's 13'6" and I'm 12'11" now, it's not going to be easy to pull a new Beacon through there.

Yeah that site makes me glad my coach is 11'5" to the top of the air conditioner.

I found that the Garmin uses the height of the lowest point which if the roof of the tunnel or bridge is curved, is on the sides.
