Does anyone that owns one of these units wish to commment on it? I'm trying to decide between it and a Nuvi 5000 but am leaning toward the Street pilot due to the screen size.

The 7200 is a superb product. While we have the 2720, it is exactly the same as the 7200 except with the smaller screen. I don't like the Nuvi's as you cannot customize the menu screens like you can on these units. The Nuvi is still a good unit, just not very customizable. You also need a much sturdier mount for the 7200 due to its size. If you could get a 2720/2820 or similar that would still be my choice.

I have the 7200 and I think it is a great GPS, specially for RV use.

I also looked at the Nuvi 5000 and found it slow and as Bill said not very customizable in order to get it to best work for you.

You might also consider the Garmin GVN 53, if your dash display can accept an alternate video input (or you have some other composite video display you can use, e.g. the tv). The GVN 53 is a basically a GPS without a display. You install it somewhere up front (e.g. under the seat or in a cabinet) and run a wire to the display you want to use and another to a remote antenna (included with it).

I have had the 7200 for almost 3 years and still love it. I bought an extra dash mount and use it as a mobile mount for in my car - put a Sirius suction cup attachment on the back of the mount to hold it on the dash. The motorhome mount is attached to the top of the dash in front of me where I can see and reach it easily.

We just bought a 7200 and love it. Easier to use than the 2xx,27xx series. You can use your old bean bag mount from the 26,27. It also uses the same external antenna. So called fctory refurbs are avaialble on E bay for $420, freight in. Had it in 4 days. It is new ( white box). Maps are pre loaded and are 2009.

I have a hard time creating routes in map source for the 7200. I put in begining & end and if I want to alter the rte I haven't figured out an easy way. Now I do the rte in Microsoft Street & Trips, get it how I want it, then go to Map Source and, using the rte tool, create the rte. Gotta be an easier way. I've tried their 'help' and it hasn't helped. :&gt

Have had the Garmin 7200 for two years. It's a must have piece of equipment in my coach.

Create new waypoints and insert them in your route. You can do all kinds of strange routing. The only time it gets confused is if you have a loop-back in the route and it can't figure out which pass you are on.
