I have an Onan 4000 mounted in the motorhome and a Honda EX-1000 as a backup portable.

I do not want to get gasoline in a can or suck it up from the motorhome gasoline tank with a bulb and hose. A switch in the Onan generator compartment which will directly connect 12 volts DC positive to the fuel pump and a tee and on-off brass valve in an extra gasoline line to the Onan carb will allow me to fill the EX-1000 easily.

I will use a double throw switch: one pole will turn the fuel pump only on for gasoline on tap, the center will shut of the fuel pump (to run the carb dry for storage) and the other pole will connect the pump for regular running of the Onan generator.
