Got the Wifi figured out

After a lot of study I went with a Linksys WRT54G off of ebay by a guy that has 2500 5* ratings. It came with DD-WRT software set up for a repeater use. Going to use an external antenna (actually one of the antennas that are on the unit) using a short cable so the antenna can be located outside the metal skin of the TT for better reception. I mounted it just forward of the door so the small antenna can be installed easily while standing on the door step. As we will be using only CG wifis this trip this looks to be a simple solution.Tried it at home on our wifi from the driveway and we had 2 bars without the booster and 5 bars with it but without the outside antenna, so I hope it's going to work well on the road. Still have the option of hooking up a high gain antenna to the outside connection if needed.

I'd be interested in hearing how you make out.

I have a JEFA tech repeater and use a larger antenna attached to my TV antenna.

Looks like a standard N connector? Nice install - and I like that you can readily connect a higher gain antenna.

I believe they are TNC connectors. I have the Jefatech with the newest interface which makes it really easy to use. I also installed a high gain antenna on the crank up as well.

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

They are RP-TNC connectors (Reverse Polarity). FCC required unique connectors early on so us regular folks couldn't attach amps or high gain antennas real easy. In the end with all the adapters that came out they gave up with that requirement on wireless routers.

Yes the learning curve has been steep.
