Even trying to use the "expand the search area" function, it still would not give you what you're looking for.

I don't how all those members that have owned this unit can ever be satisfied with this unit. I haven't tried the coordinates function yet since the places I'd like to input, I don't know what their coordinates are.

I also have a Garmin and a Magellan and they were both user friendly than the RM 7710. On the positive side, the screen is big so it's really visible from the MH dashboard to the driver. Still trying to experiment using it's capabilities.
I too had tried the RVND unit. In my view so poor I gave it away. Now have the Copilot Live on the Galaxy Tab and much happier. If you have a Wifi connection Copilot lets you do a Google search, check the weather and other related functions within Copilot. At the current price of $20 for a 1 year subscription including map updates it is pretty hard to beat. At that rate takes a number of years before you approach the cost of purchasing a separate unit.

We've had the RVND 7710 for a while. It worked well during a 10 day cross country trip. Once you get familiar with it's operation it's pretty easy to use. It worked well even when the campsites advised "do not rely on GPS"

Don't want to hijack this thread. Just to clarify, for me it wasn't an issue of working or not working. Compared to Garmin among others, I found the menus and overall user interface cumbersome. Satellite acquisition was slow. Both initial and recalculation of routes was slow. Some other issues which I don't need to go into. Any do not want to turn this into a debate on that particular GPS. Sure other have and love it.
