Hello Everyone;

We are trying to find a GPS for our 2002 KIA Sportage, which will be our towed vehicle. I am looking for input on the systems out there. I have checked out Garmin and several others with mixed reviews. In dash GPS is not an option due to the way the 2002 KIA is designed. Price between $300-$400.
Thank you in advance.

Since you will be towing this vehicle, wouldn't it be easiest to determine its location by calculating the distance from your back bumper?

I'm partial to the Garmin StreetPilot 2xxx series.

HERE is a link to the definitive web site for GPS info.

I have used a Dell Axim 50V (Pocket PC) with Iguidance as my GPS software. It has a base which hooks on to my vent on the dash and I have rigged up a base for the MH. Simply transfer it from one vehicle to another. It also serves as my music source with some 1000 songs, my wifi connection to get email, all my contacts, calendar, quicken, and a alarm clock etc.

I have been using a Garmin C340 for over 2 years. It works really well and transfers easily to any vehicle.

I am also a big fan of the 2xxx series of Garmin units. There are cheaper Garmin's with smaller screens and I am sure they work just fine as well.
I would go for the 7200 (much bigger screen) but it's too big in my opinion when sitting on the dash of my toad.
I have a 2720 and it's just the right combination of screen size and portability (for me!).
