Since I've been a good boy this year,
I think Santa Claus is bringing me a Garmin Nuvi360. The dash area between me and my co-pilot seems logical but am unsure if the stickum on the mounting plate will hold. Maybe rig up some velcro or get one of the bean bag holders? Where/how have some of the members of this forum mounted their GPS?

I have a Garmin StreetPilot 2610, and started with with beanbag mount.

My dash is sloped toward the windshield, and anything other than a gentle stop sent the whole works sliding forward.

Next was the Velcro mount.

It wobbled and never was stable.

Last and permanent was/is the double faced sticky mounting pad included with the GPS.

Success! Solid as a rock.

It's not clear from your post if both of you want to see the GPS.

I found I needed it as close as possible to me.

Thanks Dirk and 007 for the info. The padded dash between me and the co-pilot is level however I'm somewhat reluctant to apply the GPS base stickum. I'll just wait until XMas and go from there. Haven't decided to put it there or in a location like 007.

Before you stick down the plastic disk, clean off the area with alcohol. This will insure a good bond.

Enjoy your GPS...

I use a piece of marble sitting on a level spot. The suction cup sticks to the polished surface and is heavy enough to not move.

the beanbag mount is best if its flat...that way you can easily move it to other vehicles

We have the Nuvi 350 Garmin (great GPS by the way!) and use the suction mount. It is mounted in the lower right corner of the backup camera monitor. You can still see the toad in the camera (mount does not blocke the view) and the location is ideal for both passenger and driver to see. Sometimes it takes both of us to get through some of the more complicated routes

We use the Garmin Friction Mount, weighted three legged floppy mount, on our Street Pilot 7200 and C330.Don't know if is applicable to yours, but is very stable, easily faces driver or passenger, ok on level or slightly sloped surface. Fairly large footprint, about 7" across. Lock, unlock for easy removal. Garmin website not clear which units it will work on. Pricey, but so were our receivers.

Juat ordered a base from Garmin for our c-330 and it has a leaded tripot base (non-slip) that works VERY well. Use Garmin.co and check it out!

Has anyone found that locating the unit inside the MH away from the windshield and on the dash or console that the GPS has trouble finding a satellite(s)?

We just received a Nav-Mat (beanbag) mount but have not had a chance to use it yet. If interested, the best price we found was $19 at Heartland America (online) and shipping was free.

If you have a windshield that goes straight up and down you are going to have to get the GPS unit as close to the windshield as possible unless you use a remote antenna. The more slope the windshield has the better for reception.
