The original owner of our MH had mounted a hard plastic base to the hard part of the dash for connecting a GPS. Would applying heat from a hair dryer or heat gun loosen up the adhesive so the old base can be removed or are there other suggestions? I'm wanting to install the hard plastic mounting base that came with our Nuvi 350.

Try WD-40. It has worked for me on similar things and it won't ruin the dash. Let it sit and work for a few minutes.

Good Luck

Heat and WD40 should do it. Don't get it too hot, just enough to loosen the adhesive. Clean up with WD40 or Goo Gone.

Thanks for the tips everyone. With a combination of the wife's hair dryer and a little WD and a small stiff putty knife, I was able to Git-R-Done.
