Hacked my Ipad
Someone hacked into my wife's iPad somehow. On find my phone it shows her iPad at an RV park in Las Vegas, Boulder hwy, we are in central California. How they did it, I don't know. What they are trying to do, I don't know. I sure wish I was closer to Vegas. I would definitely have a harsh talk with this jerk. I changed my apple password already, but don't know what else to do.

Here's a link as to what you might do.
What to do if your iOS device is lost or stolen
Also consider contacting Las Vegas police to report what you know about it's location.

We still have the iPad, but find my phone shows it in Las Vegas. Strange.

It is probably glitch in the app if the ipad is in your wife's hands. Try deleting the app and reloading it.

I deleted the app, reloaded it and it still show to be in an RV park in Vegas. We stay in an RV park in Bakersfield Ca. Seems like someone who stayed where we are at did this hack job and now they are in Vegas.

+1 on the above
Remember address books and emails are worth money to some people.

Check your iCloud account. Make sure it's still secure.

Have you looked at the iPad itself to see where it thinks it is? Depending on how you have the iPad set, it may not be accurately reporting its location. If you have its GPS turned off it might be using the network to give it a location. That often gives an erroneous result. The app you are using on your phone is just reporting the iPad passes to it.

I fixed it. I pretty much shut everything down in wife's iPad. Waited about a half hour, and turned iCloud, find my phone, wifi, location finder, etc back on. Now her iPad shows up at the right place. I had already changed my passwords last night.
Thanks for everyone's help and ideas.

Rebooting
IPads, just like any computer, get hosed (technical term) over time and need to be rebooted.
The power switch only turns the display off unless you hold it down and then swipe the power off icon to shut it off, but even this is not really off! It's gone into sleep mode and everything in memory stays in memory, kinda like Las Vegas.
I recommend doing a cold reboot about once a week, at least that's what I do. I suspect this would have fixed your problem right away.
Here's how:
Turn it off (sleep) as per above.
Hold down the home button and press the power button until the Apple logo flashes on, off, and on again. Then release the home button.
