We have a DirecTV HD receiver. The receiver doesn't have a coax out connection to connect to a TV, it does have HDMI, component, video/audio, or S-video. What options do I have to make a conversion to a coax connection that will hook up to our video/audio distribution switch in the motorhome?

We're currently feeding the satellite signal to the front TV using RCA cables (video & audio) and the OTA signal via coax. I just switch input sources on the front TV to choose satellite or OTA. If I can feed a signal to the distribution switch, I can watch satellite in the bedroom. I know all of this isn't HD, but it works fine for us.

You can't unless you have an older HD receiver that has the TV tuner built in.

I'm wrong , you can't output RF signal with a HD reciever

Your only real option is to buy a modulator (available at Radio Shack and other places), and feed the RCA connection outputs to it, then it's output to the AV switch. You won't get HD anywhere, which begs the question of why you bothered getting the HD receiver.

It might be easier to trade the HD receiver for an SD one.

Since a lot of folks bring their HD (or other) receivers from the house to the RV, unless you want to buy a receiver to leave in the coach it makes perfect sense.
As Joe points out, we have been using the Radio Shack RCA to RF converter. You just put the yellow, red and white RCA plugs into the converter, plug it in and output the coax to your video control box. Set it to channel 3 or 4 just have you have in the past with an SD receiver and you are good to go.
If the HD receiver is near an HD TV then you can still run the HDMI cable to that TV for HD and output with the converter to the other TV's.

Bill's right, the HD receiver normally resides in our bedroom at home. I didn't realize I had a choice when Direct upgraded our receivers last year to all HD equipment. The Norwegian side of me is too cheap to pay the extra $ for HD when I can get most of what I need with our OTA antenna. As long as the DW can get the Home & Garden channel, she's happy.

Thanks for the ideas, a visit to Radio Shack should fix me up.
