Just curious to toughts here. Working from a King Dome or WG Trav'ler 1000 and DISH network one one notice much difference in 720/60 versus 1080/120 on a 32" LED televison? 720/60's still claim true 1080. I would expect a noticable difference in 55" and perhaps 48", but how about the 32s? LG or Samsung would be my choice of brands if available.

I doubt if you would notice much difference but I also don't think any of the satellite providers send 1080 anyway. The experts can correct me if I'm wrong.

Consumer Reports agrees with you, suggesting that 1080p v 720p is "best appreciated" on 50 inch or larger TVs and that the difference is "subtle" in the 40 to 47 sizes and the benefit of 1080p is "less obvious" for smaller sizes. You probably would notice the 60Hz v 120Hz difference in any size, however, when viewing sports programming. I have 50 inch 1080p plasma and a 26 inch 720p LCD tv hooked to the same satellite system. The smaller one looks just as sharp as the larger, higher resolution.

To my eye, the smaller 720p sets don't give up much if anything to the same size 1080p sets. If you throw in a little distance, the difference is hard to see.

720p = 1080I If you want HD or us a blue ray player you would want 1080P and there is a big difference between HD and regular tv. We are big tv nuts (9) and 4 are over 45inches and 1080P

Since the beginning of 2009 DirecTV and DISH, offer "On Demand" 1080p video content but for regular programming not so. Even then you need a different receiver to get the signal in 1080p.
