Help!! Do not understand Winegard systems
We are looking at a 2015 Newmar Dutch Star. It has under optional features three wineguard systems and we do not know the difference in them and why there are three on this coach. Can someone explain to a techie illiterate person like me what these are?
Winegard RTT-40B & SKM300 $5177
Winegard RTT-40B Motion Sat $1875
Winegard SK300 $2365
What does each of these do and is this overkill or do we need all of them? Thanks for all your help.

I am not sure what you are reading, but it is unlikely that the coach has three dishes that are active. Perhaps you are reading choices that were offered in 2015.
Most coaches of that era would come with the Traveler dish (last one on your list) or a dome. You should look on the roof to see what is up there.
For what it is worth. the Traveler dish will work much better in difficult reception areas than a dome enclosed dish.

I am reading off the optional list that the dealer sent me. It is the options specific to that VIN and include the color and all the options that come with that specific coach. At the bottom of the sheet they end with the MSRP. They are in MN and we are in TX so we cannot look at the coach. They want to charge us all three of the winegard options. I am used to seeing only one winegard option on the option sheet (build sheet) but I am wondering if the previous owner had more installed after he purchased it and now they want to charge for all three??? Do you know what RTT-40B is? or SKM300? Is one SK for directv and the other SKM for dish? I have heard that some people put both up but it doesn't make sense to me.

Here is a link to the 2015 brochure listing one dome satellite as the only option:
https://newmarcorp-8c1e.kxcdn.com/wp...utch-star-.pdf
My Ventana came with a SD in motion dome and I had the dealer add the Travlr, so I have two dishes on my roof.
I cannot find SKM300 as a Winegard product. Something is off here. Maybe you can get them to send a pic of the roof?

Maybe ask for a salesperson that has a clue about the product to begin with. Doesn't sound like the one your dealing with has any.

I think something is amiss too. Like trying to double charge us??? I think more detective work is in my future.

Only guesses here.
First, you may be reading off a dealer generated build sheet, not the factory's. It is not uncommon for some dealers to print out their own build sheets that resemble a factory sheet, but includes whatever happens to be on the used coach they are selling. They can also manipulate any charges that appear. It is not illegal and this may not be the case in your situation, but it could account for items that were not factory installed but appear on the coach.
Second, the coach may, indeed, have two sat dishes--a dome (RTT-40B) and a crank-up (the Travel'r SK-SWM3 that is typo'd on the sheet.) The list includes the combination of both sat dishes, plus an individual listing of the separate dishes.
Again, just speculation, but it would be wise, IMO, to get them to send a picture of the roof of the coach and to explain each listed sat dish separately, as the SKM300 appears to be non-existent. Also, get a confirmation that the build sheet is from the factory as is for the original sale of that particular coach.

Ljwt330-Thank you for your reply. We had no idea that dealers could make up their own build sheet. There are only two coaches (2015 Newmar DS 4312) on the market from what we can find. One is dealer and one is private seller. Very similar but the dealer's has heated floor, dometic freezer, power tv antenna, power sofa in bed (which I think you would lose storage for), the three winegard listings, a large storage tray, dometic 9000 window awning and a kitchen window for $20,000 more than the private seller. We are wrestling with what we can live without for $20,000 less. Personally I think the heated floor would be great but DH says it's not that great a thing. We can put in a freezer and kitchen window ourselves plus the private seller's is 7000 miles vs. 24000 for the dealer's. This is such a big purchase for us that I don't want to regret our decision. We have changed floor plan preferences a couple of times due to our decision to keep our special needs daughter with us when we travel full time and we like the rear bunkbed floor plan but they are rare. So if anyone can give us guidance or advice it would surely be appreciated. Thanks again Ljwt330.

The RTT-40B is the Winegard RoadTrip Mission in motion dome. The SKM300 is the Winegard Trav'ler antenna for DirecTV. What you are looking at is each one priced alone and a combination of the two (your first listing) together as a package. If they are installing them for you new at that price, then they are not totally out of line. If they are trying to charge you that much for three year old equipment, they are way out of line. The SKM300 can be bought brand new for around $1600 and the RoadTrip runs about the same. If they are installing the Trav'ler on a coach that's not pre-wired then it can be a major job.

As the others have said one may be an in motion dome and the other may be a Travler Sat Dish. If you think you have a third it would be for over the air reception and should have come installed from the factory.

Lt Dan is correct. The RTT-40B is a RoadTrip Mission In-Motion Satellite, the SKM-300 is a DIRECTV TRAV'LER system. The option sheet you have lists the combination of the two and each on their own.
