hopper 3

I have always taken my hopper and joeys from home while we are in Arizona for the winter. I set up an antenna on a tripod next to the motorhome and everything has worked fine. I am now upgrading to the hopper 3 and it sounds like you have to disconnect the hopper from the antenna while you get the antenna locked on the the signal. I don't know how to do this as the lnb is powered from the reciever. If anyone can tell me how to accomplish this I would appreciate it.
Thanks.

As stated. It only is related to using a Hopper3 on a Winegard Travlr automatic dish. If your vacation home has a tripod or fixed mount it does not matter. This is assuming of course you have the newer LNB installed for the Hopper3.

I am assuming that I can connect the hopper 3 to the dish (and new lnb) and the receiver will power the lnb to tune in the satellites the same as my old hopper?????

This is the recommended Winegard Travler and portable tripod setup for a Hopper 3. If you only use a tripod, then you don't need the AB switch.

NOTE: You don't have to disconnect/connect the Hopper 3. That only applied to a modified Winegard Travler. If you use a DPH42 switch with a standard Winegard Travler, then everything's hunky dory.
