Hot Spot - Laptop
Have used a Tablet Hot Spot (VZW Unlimited) for years with my laptop. AT our last location, and here, laptop is useless for web surfing.
Ran speed tests:
Laptop speed connected to tablet hot spot: 0.08 down; 0.68 up.
Tablet speed (still connected to laptop): 18.8 down; 7.02 up
Tablet is a foot away from the lap top. Don't understand the degradation. If I was being throttled by VZW wouldn't the speed test on the tablet also be low?
Ideas? Thanks.

What is a tablet hotspot?
If you have a standard Verizon JetPack for example (hotspot), then you would be Wifi connected from laptop and tablet to the JetPack. There should be no difference in speed.

We use wifes S9+ as hotspot, on VZW Unlimited. They throttle hot spot down to about 600Kps after 15gb hotspot use (in our case they send text and then throttle). When she exceeds 22gb total they may or may not slow the phone down (haven't noticed so far if they have).
Today is her last day on this cycle, usage for month:
total GB 71.88
Hotspot GB 48.88
We have found that even with hotspot slowed down, she can still watch netflix and game on xbox, without buffering very often.

You didn't say where "here" is.
I'm in Vernal, UT and find VZ hotspot useless.
Phone keeps switching between 5 bars of VZ LTE and "Extended" 1x. No idea what Extended 1X is but when this happens I find the hotspot useless.
Many folks said VZ is better than AT&T out west, I have experienced just the opposite.
