How can you check if LNB is good?

I'm using a sat dish on a tripod, have Dish network and recently have only been able to get one sat. Either 110 OR 119! Dish said it sounds like a bad LNB, there are two on the dish. Moved a couple hundred miles an now can't get anything! Have a fairly good signal on my inline win guard meter when I'm pointing dish but the screen on tv with the signal strength meter shoe no signal at all on either sat. Camper next to me is getting both sat.s on his portable automatic dome. What's up?

You Are aimed at the wrong sat -probably 101 directv
Cover the right lnb (standing behind the dish) with tinfoil and aim in the dish to get sat 119 It is probably to the right of where you are now
FWIW Don

Could also be your tripod, aiming, and/or meter.

When I switched from a dual LNB DISH 500 to a 3 LNB DISH 1000.4, I found it actually easier to aim because DISH sats come in 3's.

With the DISH 500, I was always mis-aiming and getting 119 & 129 or just 110 or 119.

Also, I ditched the cheap in-line meter for an Accutrac III.

Thanks Don and Tech, you were correct I think, I moved sat around till I started getting another signal and was able to get 110 but still not 119. DISH tech said he thought I might have a bad lmb and therefore only able to pick up one sat. I don't know and was wondering if it was possible to test them in the field.

Do you have the correct skew??
Did you dial it in with tinfoil as I suggested??
