We are in a really nice RV park (Gilgal Oasis) in Sequim, WA. Being new at RV'ing we wanted to do a shakedown cruise close to home.
I was a little surprised to find that the park supplied internet connectivity via an ethernet connection. I did not have a long ethernet cable so had to borrow one of the park's. Given the location of the utility pedestal with respect to where we set up the computer, we needed a 40' cable.
My question is; what proportion of RV parks supply internet connectivity in this way? I just assumed that, like motels, the vast majority would have wi-fi.
Do I need to stock a long (50'?) ethernet cable in the coach?
Thanks,

I believe you are the first one to post about this.
There may be more, but no one has mentioned it.

We have been to many parks that offered I'net via either dial up or ethernet connection, but in all cases, connections were made in or near the office. Think it would be overkill to carry that long a cable.

I've stayed at many parks and have never seen ethernet connections at each site. I have seen them in or around the office though.
I'm curious as to what kind of speeds you got? Ethernet connections have cable length restrictions of about 100 meters, a shade over the length of a football field. See here

I have never seen an internet connection such as that at any campground I've been to.

We have stayed a couple of parks that had ethernet connections at the sites for long term guest. Since WiFi has become more popular, I ahve not see ethernet except at the office.

Interesting variety of responses.
A long-winded attempt to answer some of the questions: Don't know how fast but fast. We have wi-fi at home. We had satellite for four years but the basic package is broadband in name only. We do not have cable or DSL available. So when wi-fi became available we snapped it up. With wi-fi, and I suspect lower end DSL services, the speed is modulated by the size of the data transfer. You get the first, say, 500kb real fast (burst speed) then it starts to slow down as the number of bytes increases. Once a data transfer completes the speed resets and it's fast again for the first 500kb, etc, etc. The RV park service was burst-like 100% of the time.
When loading the Google main page there was no noticeable difference between the RV park's service and my wi-fi service at home. But when I loaded the Spybot updates the 2meg file loaded in about 2-3 seconds at the RV park where at home the same file takes 10-15 seconds at home.
As to distances - my impression is that each of the 28 spaces is within 110 yards of the office. As far as I know internet was available at every site.
FWIW,
