How to turn feature on?

I had a failure of a hard drive on my computer and it had to be replaced. When I got it back, it no longer acknowledges when I put a flash card from my camera into the slot on the side of the laptop. I am pretty sure it is something on/in the computer settings. Best Buy did the replacement, but I am 150 miles from there. Any of you geek types - Help please!

It's quite easy to take the back off and make sure the different modules are correctly seated. (with the help of youtube)
The other option would be to pick up a cheap usb reader and just read the flash card that way.

edit; Your camera might even have a cable to do this

Right click lower left window and select settings. Then select devices and then Autoplay

Can you see the card contents?

In other words is the reader working and just not autoplaying?

In Windows 10, type autoplay in the search box in your taskbar. Check the settings there.

If autoplay is enabled check to see what option is enabled for memory card. If everything looks correct then turn off autoplay, wait a minute and then turn it back on.

But first you need to figure out if the card reader is actually working.

Can you see the the contents if you go to File Explorer? If not you may have to call Best Buy. They may have not connected the reader when they replaced the hard drive.

If the card reader is not working you could go down to the nearest store like Walmart and pick up an external card reader that connects via USB cable.

Or you could just hook your camera up via USB cable and get the photos that way.

It's possible that a driver didn't get installed when your drive was replaced. Go to Settings and type "device manager" in the search box at the top of the page then click "Device Manger". Any items with exclamation marks means that a driver is needed.
