Go here and buy your reciever.. the 211K. and sign up for month -to - month service here also.... DO NOT GO STRAIGHT TO Dish Network if you want the month to month.. they will mess it up!!! With month to month you can start and stop every month if you want with no extra fee's.. great for part time RVers.

We recently had a new dish installed by Camping World. Also purchased our receivers from them. Signed up for month to month service and everything has been great. Only problem was one camp site we were at had too many trees and blocked the beam. My experience has been good with Dish Network so far.

We purchased the Dish 1000 Automatic, here is a link:
Winegard Co - Winegard TRAV'LER DISH 1000 Multi-Satellite TV Antenna - Satellite Antennas - Camping World
The receivers are also from Camping World:
DISH Network Solo ViP211k HD Satellite Receiver
I see you have a 40 ft Dutch Star. We have one also. Our coach came with a Trac Vision antenna, but it would not work with these HD receivers, thus the new Dish 1000 antenna. We have great pictures on our HD tvs, and get lots of channels.

The VP211K from Amazon is $115, for price comparison.

We have had DISH for 15 or more years; At that time we purchased 2 receivers. One for the house one for the RV.. After several years ,Of paying for both; I asked them if I could just Pay for one and Move it Form the house to the RV. they said that was OK. since I was only using one. WE find dish is great, Except when you call in for something; You will need to have your meals, and sometimes your Bed there. There Hold time is Extreem. Life is good..

I suggest you go to Winegard here.

You can talk to a real person here in the USA who will explain all your different choices, sign you up for which ever satellite provider you choose, send you the receiver in 2 business days and then talk you through the simple installation and set-up of your receiver and new dish.

Let's get back to basics for Dutchie01. He needs three things for satellite tv service:
(1)a satellite antenna, aka dish or dome
(2)a satellite receiver
(3)subscription to a satellite tv service

You have a dome-type dish, but you still need a satellite receiver and a subscription to a satellite tv service. Your choice of satellite service has an impact on the dish itself because an automatic dome has to be programmed to find the correct satellites for your service. Dish TV comes via different satellites than Direct TV. So you need to choose a service and get with the dome installer to have it programmed into the dome.

Then you need a receiver, which once again has to be compatible with your choice of tv service. Most receivers are leased rather than sold - the satellite service retains ownership even though you may have paid some amount for it, and you are charged a monthly rental fee. You can but receivers outright from some sources, though. Make sure you know what you are getting.

I just called Dish and they said the reciver is different than the home one and you could not do that.
