I have a TV problem in my motorhome...

I recently purchased a 2000 Discovery that the previous owner had modified. There is a new Olevia high definition TV in the front and a new Legend HD TV in the bedroom. It also has two satellite dishes. One is a Winegard crank-up and the other is a KVH dome.
Yesterday, I got the crank-up working with DirecTV on the front TV but the problem is: the only way that I can hook up the TV is with an S-video cable or audio/visual cables. It doesn't receive a satellite signal through the coax cable. This is going to make it difficult to set it up through my coax switch box. Anybody else run into this problem?
Also, I don't have a remote for the Legend TV and nobody's ever heard of them before. I need to find a remote that will search out the code for the device that it's trying to operate.

When the coax was connected from the sat receiver to the TV did you set the TV to channel 3 or 4 and set the TV to pick up cable?

If I understand correctly your sat receiver is only able to output what it receives through the audio and S-video cable... i.e. it does not have the ability to output through a coax connection. If this is correct and you need to send the signal to the TV via a coax then you need to purchase a RF modulator. Radio Shack used to carry one that was sold to connect DVD players to older TVs and that will work just fine. The RF modulator will have the ability to plug in you A/V cables and will output the combined signal to a RF coax connection.

As for a remote, look at Walmart for a programable remote then check the list of TVs that they have in the book that comes with the remote for the brand of TV that you have.

In answer to Clay L: Yes I set the TV to channel 3 to match the satellite receiver.
To TexNet: My Sat receiver is able to output on coax - My TV will not accept Sat signals on Coax.
Thanks

For the Legend TV try using the current sylvania/emersons remote codes, they should at least give you partial control.

Does the TV have a coax con. for over the air transmissions, if so use the menu and search for chans on antenna.

I don't understand this as your Sat receiver is not outputting anything other than a analog signal on channel 3 or 4, i.e. NOT digital such as 3.1, 4.1 and etc.... if your TV and Sat receiver both have a coax connection, i.e. Sat receiver output and TV input then your TV will accept channel 3 or 4 and you will be able to view the Sat channels... The only thing I can thing of is that on the newer TVs you have to scan for the channels, which you would need your Sat receiver hooked up to the TV, then set the TV to scan for Off-Air or Off-Antenna channels. The TV should find channel 3 or 4, whatever you have the switch on the Sat receiver set for.

Regarding the remote.. I got a six in one for a dollar at the Dollar store (Doller tree I think) and it managed to find a few codes I thougt never to find.

Checked the PDF of the owner's manual though and did not find Legend listed

But then I did not find Replay TV (DVR) listed either and it controls that. And my Funi TV, and my Pioneer DVD recorder (partial control only) and my Samsung Multi-sync monitor/tv and.. Well you get the idea.

Bit flaky though, I' keep having to re-program it.

I connected the Satellite Receiver with an S-video cable directly to the TV 1. It worked. Then I ordered a new 5 in/3 out video distribution box from Camping World. When I hooked up the Satellite to the distribution box and the distribution box to the Sat receiver, I got nothing. When I connected the two cables directly, I get TV. I must have gotten a bad distribution box is all I can think of.

That would not be the norm... what box did you get? i.e. part number...
