Recently got a IPhone and want to apply a good APP for GPS driving directions and maybe locations for diesel etc....campgrounds would be good but not req in that we have all the paper books to look that up. I see some are free or appear to be for a while and others cost some small amounts. If I get one and do pay I would like it to be usable. I like the spoken directions as well as view location, turns etc....any other apps to help RV's you recommend is appreciated I loaded Good Sam, RV Checklist and IRV2 Forum and use them.....2005 Fleetwood Expedition 38N 300cat....all have a great day....glen

I've installed NavFree USA (a free app) on my iPhone. It is a pretty good turn-by-turn GPS program. Also GasPrices will find the location and prices of fuel near you. Finally, PassportAmerica will find campgrounds in their system (membership req'd). Then there is a $2.99 app called Lite Camp & RV. It will find all sorts of campgrounds and not need internet access to work. I have not tried the last app.
I also use the Maps app that comes with the iPhone to find locations, phone numbers and websites. While driving the interstate, my wife will open Maps, type in RV Park and search. It will display what is near and give the phone number. Call from within the app and make reservations. Simple!

I have CoPilot installed on my iPhone. Far from free, but since the entire US map is downloaded at purchase, it works even when you don't have cell service.

I also use CoPilot. It can account for your RV height. It's cost is less than others of equal quality, ie TomTom. They have a truck version for BIG$$. A laptop with Delorme Street Atlas is used for trip planning. I have & use the other APPS stated, each has its strong points. GasBuddy is a favorite both on the iphone & the laptop. We often plan our stops based upon fuel cost rather than fuel gage. Our NYS taxes burdening us again...

Try Map Quest. It is free and give voice directions. I never liked using the phone for travel because nothing have voice direction. Looking at the phone when driving could be bad!! ( my thoughts )

I have an Android phone. Included free with it voice navigation. It works great, but sure does drain the battery. Keep it plugged while using it.
