Either one should work fine. Be sure that the unit you purchase has recent enough software to pick up 110, 119 and (127 and 61.5) for HD. Owners of each will likely be along to suggest their dome (along with KVH) but each one works fairly well, just don't expect your signal to remain good unless you are traveling the plains. Trees, light poles, overpasses and alien spacecraft will interrupt your signal as you travel. East to West is better than West to East as you will be farther away from the trees that line the South side of the freeway. The Western US will also be dramatically better than the Eastern US as more areas have less obstructions.
To reader who may not be aware, you cannot use any dome on the market to receive the HD signal from DirecTV.

Two answers and one comment:
1: If you have DriecHDTV: In-motion systems do not exist at this time
2: If you have DISH, make sure it can do both east and west arcs.
and the comment:
King dome makes a spray on coating, kind of expensive in my not very humble opinion, that is supposed to improve rain fade... They seem to think it's needed. NOTE: I am not expressing an opinion here,, Just a fact. I do not have a king dome and thus can not tell you any more about it.
Final comment: I would not recommend in-motion HDTV,, For in-motion I recommend DirecTV,, Standard.. The reason for this is that a dome type antenna can see one, and only one satellite at a time.. And with DirecTV, standard, that's all you need. One bird.
All the other options (DirecHDTV, DISH regular and HD) split the programming between 2 or more birds so if you have ONE single receiver.. No problem, you switch birds as needed (save for DirecHDTV), but if you have 2 receivers and want to watch/record 2 programs on different birds.. BIG problem.
If someone out there has the cash... I'd love to see someone put say a King dome and a Winegard, (or replace one of those with a motosat) both on their roof and use a Dish 625 to record 2 shows at once, and report back on how well the two domes work.. That woudl be interesting.
Alas.. My current budget for that kind of thing has a MINUS sign in front of it.

Since you are a Dish customer you should be able to get whatever you need as long as you do not have an Eastern Arc receiver.
From the Winegard site and the information about the Roadtrip.........
NEW! DISH Network - all standard and HD programming. Toggles between 110°, 119° and 129°. Starting in 2009, all Road Trip antennas are equipped with the ability to toggle between 3 DISH Network satellites.
Road Trip antennas are equipped to receive programming from a single satellite at a time and automatically toggle between 2 or 3 satellites, depending on the provider, while parked or in-motion.
Take a look here:
RoadTrip SDi and RoadTrip SD Satellite TV Antennas - Winegard
Don't expect the kind of service from any dome antenna that you can get from the open face counterpart, but if you absolutely must have the option of watching or recording "most" of any show you want to watch while you are moving then a dome is the only way to go. I can't explain it, but I promise that every punch line and every critical scene in every TV show is delivered the very moment you drive under a bridge or behind a tree!
On the other hand, if you are trying to find that one small opening in the trees before you turn the engine off, an in-motion dish makes that job a whole lot easier.

thanks bill .im buying the winegard roadtrip tomorrow .it seems the best bet for dish network and hd channels.i dont know what you mean about eastern arc reciever but i do live in caifornia bay area .so i dont know what dishnetwork put in my house.
anyways im going to install my self.im gonna drill a 3/4 inch hole in the reciever ,dvd compartment through the roof and run my 2 coax wires ,12v power wire and ground wire to the dome.i was thinking of just getting my 12volt power from the 12v wire that goes to the wingard antenna booster in that same compartment .since i will not be using the wingard crank up antenna i wont need that booster anyways.what do you guys think?could i just tap into the booster 12v wire and leave it hooked up or would that be to much for that 12v power wire.or should i grab 12v power somewhere else?
again thanks alot

If you are from CA then the Eastern Arc issue is not one you will have to deal with. You ARE going to need your crank up over-the-air antenna so don't disconnect this power. The Winegard antenna comes with a 120V power supply and you will need to use this to provide the power to the Roadtrip.

You must have edited your original post.do you think I could just tap into the 12v power going into the winegard booster that's in the same cabinet ?Or should I find another power source?
Again thanks for the help

The Roadtrip comes with a 120V power supply. You will have to have 120V power, not 12V power, to run the antenna. You can use the same plug that powers your receiver since you will have to have your inverter running to power the receiver anyway.
