We've installed almost every brand and almost every model...That being said it really depends on where you live and how much rain your see. Not so much for in-motion but stationary use. Most RV’ers use the satellite more while parked then while traveling, and most domes (or should I say ALL domes) will experience rain fade while stationary. Some happen when the clouds move in (or so it seems) and some take heavy rain before losing signal. Most have issues finding the satellites as well during rain showers, which can lead to frustration levels higher then we want while trying to relax. I’ve seen domes come and go, and when they are new to the market I insist they give us one to demo if they want us to sell it to our customers. I can’t sell something I don’t believe in. Currently, both owners of our shop have 2 satellites installed on their coach. The domes from either winegard or KVH work well in-motion rain or shine. When stopped the automatic pop up’s (Winegard Trav’ler series) go up and the signal is solid rain or shine. Being one of the owners, I would install a winegard Trav’ler for rock solid satellite viewing while parked, along with a DVR to record shows while in-motion. If and only if, the primary purpose of the system is to be used while in-motion only then would I install a dome…Or if I got one for free!
