To each his own, but IMHO sometimes you have to pay for convenience. We're full-timers and it's very nice to have my A/V electronics setup be as easy to use as it would be in a sticks & bricks (where the Harmony was originally installed). With it I can access all the functions of my DirecTV Genie and my Roku (as well as the TV and amplifier) and switch between them without reaching for another remote.
