Infrared Receiver

Wondering if anyone knows the answer to my question. My coach is in storage for winter and I want to try to make a mod when it warms up.
I have three tvs with two Direct tv receivers. My external tv is wired to my bedroom Direct tv, so what ever channel is on in the bedroom is on the tv outside. To change sat channels I have to go in to the bedroom to do so. I was wondering if any one know if I can plug in a remote infrared receiver to the Direct tv receiver, feed the wire to the outside to be able to use the remote control to change channels outside.

Thanks
Ed

Actually you can get a wireless remote system from Dish or a Dish dealer that will accomplish that for you.

Yep, I run all three of my TVs from a single DirecTv HD DVR receiver using their standard RF remotes. Prior to getting that receiver though I used an IR repeater from Best Buy. Plug a little unit in next to your receiver and tape the little transmitter to the IR sensor on the receiver and then plug in the remote receiver unit(s) outside and/or in the bedroom and you're home free.

RF remotes are the way to go.
