We have a air card from US Cellular and where ever we have cell service we have internet. We use it at home and while camping, we even have a router that we take with us and use at home, that way DW can be on facebook and I'm on iRV2. Good all over USA when you have cell signal.

We have used Verizon for the last 3 years all over the USA, Canada and AK. Oh yes there are spots with no coverage but there probably is no coverage of any kind there. It has been very reliable and both the wife and I can be on both our PC's at the same time. We are happy with it.

I agree with the comments regarding the Verizon Air Card. We have used this service for the past three years all over the US. Good service, few places where we have not been able to get coverage. Very satified with our card.

We've had the Verizon MiFi 2200 for about a year now. Will power up to five wireless devices at once, have used it from Illinois to Texas to Arizona, works great.

We use AT&T iPhone with tethering. Any place we have reception (and that is almost everywhere we've been the last two years Duluth MN to Portland OR to Ft Myers FL via Los Angeles and Mission TX) we've had internet. I use my laptop and DW uses her kindle fire. Both work very well. Just my $.02 :-)

The "best" system for you will depend on your connection needs, where you will be traveling, and what your budget is. Probably the most popular way to connect while traveling is via cellular, whether with an aircard with or without a router, a smartphone hotspot, or tethering a phone to a computer. Satellite systems are available if you need connection everywhere, but their speeds are relatively low and initial cost is pretty high. Public or campground wifi systems can also be used but are generally unreliable.

We have a Verizon MiFi and smartphone, Sprint smartphones with hotspot capability, and ATT devices. West of the Mississippi, Verizon has, by far the best data and voice coverage. We find east of the Mississippi, Sprint data is a bit better where we travel, voice is relatively equal with Verizon. ATT is pretty much useless to us whenever we get very far from major metropolitan areas. There are still large areas where some or all of the carriers will have no or limited coverage. Many of us use external antennas and amplifiers to boost weak signals. But once in a while we are places with no coverage.

We use Sprint tethered to a laptop. It is the only unlimited everything plan for 3G/4G. Also has the lowest monthly prices for family plans. Since it also includes unlimited roaming for both phone and data on other networks, we have not found any real dead spots. We do use a signal amplifier on the roof of the motor coach when we are in very remote areas.

Here is an article about our set-up!

I did a little digging and found the link to the Sprint Unlimited with the Everything Data Plan for $79.99 monthly.

I need to get rid of my AT&T cell and data service because it will not work in fringe areas. Other people in the same area have told me they have no problem with Verizon. Are you saying Sprint will work on Verizons network at no additional cost?
AT&T has no roaming option for Verizons network.

we use a verizon air card and the Wilson cell booster for office to boost and relay signal through inside antenae
Nice connectability without a bunch of wires or seting phones and cards on a pad
On the west coast and across northern and central states works great

Good luck
