Internet Connection Booster...

I know this has been asked a million times but needing some clarification...

We have a Droid cell phone, a laptop, and a tablet.
We also have the Verizon service with a Verizon 890L-E290 4G hotspot with no ports.

We are looking for some such Wilson or other wireless antenna setup to gain extra bars when boondocking or with a low Verizon signal.

Many said get the cradle but that takes care of the phone but not the laptop and tablet if I'm correct. we were interested in a setup similar to RVSue but she has a hotspot with a port...we do not.

Can anyone explain what we need to set up in our Casita to give us more bars?

Easiest approach is to get a Novatel 4620LE Mifi which has an antenna port. Get an antenna adapter, antenna cable, and antenna and mount for the RV. Best signal strength will come from using a signal booster like the 4G Surecall amp between the antenna and the Mifi. Millenicom also sells these and their data plan rates are half the real world cost of Verizonwireless.

We use Verizon for cell phones and Millenicom for data. With Millenicom you can discontinue the service at any time with no penalties and restart it for a $20 charge.

I'm familiar with Millenicom and may move over to that eventually. Right now we have a contract with Verizon and our Jetpack. Leaning towards the WilsonSleek cradle for our phones and Jetpack...if that will work for us and which antenna setup would work best for us. Understand an antenna comes with the Sleek as an accessory that we could keep in the truck and perhaps get a window or larger antenna on the trailer. Wondered if anyone had that type set-up.

Wilson signal booster and antenna is the ONLY unit I would trust.

A wireless one is what you need. I am waiting until they come out with a wireless unit for the RV that will take care of BOTH 3G and 4G.

They have one for a house or commercial building now but it is not made for the RV.

They claim that they should have one by the fall of this year.

The Wilson Sleek works for both 4G and 3G. Since most (all?) smartphones lack antenna ports, a wired amplifier won't be of any use if you are using your phone as a wifi hotspot. I don't know what more is needed than the Sleek.

The Wilson Sleek is a great unit if you don't mine being tethered to a cradle and only have one phone being able to use it.

The wireless solution is what I will wait for so that more than one phone can use it simultaneously whether it's being used for a hotspot or a voice call.

I may just go as is for a bit....if I can't handle lost connection I'll grab a sleek. Excited Wilson may have something on the horizon, maybe in the Fall for RV'ers
