Are anyone of you using Internet radio?
A couple of month ago i bought (in Denmark) a wireless Internet radio that hooks up to my wireless router. This is working so well (I can really recommend this) that I would like to use this when we travel in the US. I bought a Pinell Iconnect radio but it seems like this is not being sold outside Scandinavia for some reason.
On Ebay I find USB dongles that would appear to provide Internet radio and also TV - something like this. I wonder if this is a "play and pay" kind of system because the USB key appears to be almost free? I can also see that places like Best Buy stocks Internet radios but they seem a bit bulky compared to tthe one I have already.
Another, and very important thing is, how much data is an Internet radio downloading? We have a 5GB limit per month (Verizon) and for some reason it will cost an absolot fortune to exceed this limit by even a few MB.

Looks like the dongle just includes the internet radio software that loads onto your computer.
I just started using Pandora on my ipad which allows you to specify the music and artists you like and it develops a radio station for you - all for free. I think Pandora will run on any platform so you may want to give that a try and then just use your PC as your internet radio.

RVThere's got it. That is a standard USB memory dongle with free internet radio software loaded on it. Depending on the size, the $7.95 shipping will cover both shipping and the cost of the dongle .
Unfortunately, I do not know how much info internet radio downloads, I do know that MP3's use anywhere from 32 to 320KB/sec depending on quality, so over a month the usage may be well over your 5GB limit.

Or you can just use the radio built into Widows Media Player.
To listen to NPR and a lot of sites just go to their website and click on live stream through your browser.

When travelling, I log onto my favorite Phoenix radio stations and many stream the shows. I believe low grade audio (48 Kbps) downloads at about 5M/hour.

If you're looking for a real table top type radio, HERE is the Internet radio page from CCrane Corp.
I listen on my iPhone all the time to the local AM that gets buried due to mountains. Pandora is good, but it depends on what the station decides to subscribe to (Pandora, iHeart, etc), or some stream themselves.
