Starting a new thread. Hope this helps someone out.
There is a new iOS 4.2 system for the iPad. It has some pretty nifty features, and one can only hope that it will get better.
However, with this new version, you no longer have a screen rotation lock feature by sliding that little button next to the speaker volume. Now, it mutes the volume.
However, here is the tip that I found on an iPad forum: (I corrected some "left and right" information
There's a Screen Orientation Lock built into the OS.
Just double-click the home button to launch multi-tasking, then swipe the bottom bar from left to right. You should see an icon all the way on the left which, when clicked, locks the screen's orientation.
