iPod problems
I have about 50 GB of music recorded over many years, most back in the 1970s it has migrated from 7 reel to reel, some cassettes, vinyl records, to all on cds now all on an iPod. Amazing. The question is i have it all on a win 7 PC in ITunes. Not all will move to the iPod, I guess due to copyright, etc.
All is on the PC. I would like to move it to one more mobile platform such as an iPad, or small notebook. That way I could Bluetooth it to a sound system and change the music while holding the new device. Adding new albums would also be easier I think if it was all in one place. Now I have to load it on the PC, then reset the ipod and resynch everything.
I would also like to deal with the restrictions Apple puts on moving the music, some of which I bought thru iTunes. Do they have a family share plan where I can move it from device to device somehow?
I have been having a problem with some of the really old stuff which was recorded before copying was even an issue. The cd I copy may have several albums, etc on it but shows up as some new tune I never heard of because the CD looks like all one song. I then change the cd info but I suspect that is why some of the cds will not import to the iPod. Any ideas?

Time consuming but you can always burn each song to a physical cd. You can choose the playlist to burn. When you rip it into a new installation of itunes you will be the owner.

had a similar issue not too long ago and found https://www.imobie.com/. this suite will move your music from your Win7 PC to smart phones, tablets, etc. there's a one-time purchase but to me it was worth it.

Isn’t there a way to store all your music in iCloud and have it available for all your devices?

Probably, but when on the road I may not have internet and do not want to burn up data listening to prerecorded music.

As mentioned in my op, all the music is now on a physical cd. So are you saying that if I loaded them on a new device all would be fine? The problem I see is that how do I do that with a small tablet, don’t I still have to use a pc with a cd drive? Since I already have them on a pc anyway could I just download direct from the existing pc file to another device?
Having already tried that with my iPod why don’t all songs sync up and how would a new tablet or other mobile device solve that?
Sincere questions, just want answers. I have no issue with reloading the existing cd’s if that will solve the issue, just want to make sure it will solve it.
I do like the option of moving the entire file with the external site listed above by rk911 and don’t mind spending $30 or so to do it, just wonder how hard it is to do as I know just enough about this stuff to get into trouble.

All I know, is that all my music, admittedly a much much smaller amount, is stored in iCloud (bought from iTunes) and they show up and also stored on each of my devices (iPhone, iPad) and playable anytime anywhere. I have no clue how it may work for music imported to iTunes from CD’s. Hope you find a workable solution.
Have you by chance contacted Apple support to see if they have a solution?

You can store your music and share with your family with a subscription to Apple Music. The cost is 14.99 per month.
Sorry I missed the part where you still had it on CD's. I also find itunes to be difficult to manipulate especially on homebuilt cd's.

I found out to my surprise that the music I bought thru iTunes and was on my iPad was actually streaming when I played it. I found this out in Whitehorse, Yukon. I stopped at an Apple store there for some other issues and complained about my music not always playing. He then downloaded all of it to the iPad so it is now actually on the machine and plays anytime, anywhere.
I have used the tech support at a local Apple store. They had no solution to get all of the music from the pc to the iPod. They reset the iPod and allowed it to completely sync. 66 songs would not transfer.

I think the homebuilt cd is part of the problem, but some of the albums I purchased from iTunes transferred and a few did not. The Apple store said it was probably copyrite issues. Just does not seem fair, I bought it now it is confined to the device (PC) that I bought it thru. I do understand the copyrite problem, but I just want to make it easier and more portable for my own use.
We have a singer/songwriter friend that lives in Nashville. After he gave us a private tour of the city and explained how his income had dived down with all the copying going on, I have never copied anyone elses cds since. Shamefully, I did do some before not realizing what I was doing.
As I said before, the vast majority of this music was recorded in the late 60s and early 70s when copying was not an issue and none of us thought anything of it.

Would it be possible to convert all of your music to MP4's? I did that with mine and then loaded them into my Android phone's removable SD card. I didn't care for iTunes, but that's just me. The SD card can be moved around.

Have done more research and it looks like an iPod touch will solve my problem and has other benefits as well such as blue tooth and ability to buy and download directly into iTunes. Just talked to an Apple store and they assure me it will do all I want. They do not sell them so sent me to Best Buy, they confirmed all the info so now looking for best price. Hope it works!

That was my solution. I downloaded everything onto a 1T hard Drive back up and then onto other devices. You could probably use a large thumb drive and move sections at a time.
