I am sorry to say that the time has come for me to go. While I have made a few inexcusable mistakes on this forum for which I have apologized, I still remain at polar opposites with some things that have taken place behind the scenes.
I asked that one of these be corrected (which I considered to be a final straw) and the silence has been deafening.
I visit here for no financial gain, I visit here because I love sharing the knowledge I have obtained over the last 10 years and I enjoy correcting the vast base of incorrect information.
Many of you know me personally and many know that I also post on other forums so I will not be hard to find if you are looking for me in the future.
I am sorry that I must go, but I have been left with no other option than to go. This is not my site and I must play within the rules set out by the site. It is my choice, and my choice alone, to no longer attempt to play in this sandbox when others out there are more flexible.
Safe travels to you all.

Sorry to see you go Bill. I've always thought very highly of your help and advice. Happy trails! The forum will be poorer without you.

John

ABSOLUTELY!

Having seen and encountered my own occasional tangles with board rules, and those who apply them, I sometimes get disgusted with inequality and erratic enforcement myself, and this board is no exception!

Such incidents are especially hurtful, when they eliminate the core of knowledge members who actually make these forums work...

BUT, along the line, I've also been forced to realize that the individual rank-and-file member will NEVER come out on top in a member vs moderator conflict - and equally true, is that quite often member "A" will get vigorously slapped down for an infraction that won't even get a second look for member "B"...

TOO often, it isn't what's said, or how - but rather, who says it...

YUP - this post too will probably come under fire, but hopefully for at least a few of the "powers-that-be", it will generate at least SOME reflection on how boards are run, and rules enforced - and reduce future member losses.

BILL - you WILL be missed!

Damn shame that we continue to lose the folks that have made iRV2.com such a great site -- we'll probably never know what chased Bill away. Thanks for sharing your expertise and I'll be looking for your tracks on other RV forums.

We have had our technical differences, and most of the time you were right.

Sorry to see you go. I enjoyed your posts.

I'll still be able to bother you on that other forum.

Bill - I am sorry to see you leave and hope that you'll reconsider. Please understand that while you may disagree with a decision made by the site team they do their very best to keep community running peaceably and within the parameters laid out in our community rules. No one member is singled out or more or less important than another and as a courtesy to members, those issues and decisions are not discussed on public threads. In the spirit of that practice we are going to close this thread as well.

You have posted loads of great information and surely members appreciate that participation. If you aren't logging in regulalry perhaps members can still find you by clicking on the link in your signature and hopefully can continue to get needed info or service that way.
