Came across the Canary Digital Hotspotter HS20. I don't know anything about WiFi.....just starting to learn.

Is this something desirable?

Thank you

IMHO it is a gimic!! Your latop, tablet or cell phone should be able to find the APs that are in you area and allow you to connect. If you really want to play with finding signals then purchase a low end Spectrum Analyzer ( http://www.titanwirelessonline.com/U...r-p/sa-av2.htm ) which will allow you to see the frequencies in use in your area!

WiFi detectors are used by folks who wish to hijack your home Wi-Fi network. Though they are very very slightly useful to us RV types they really are not worth it.

But if you are "War Driving" (Driving through a neighborhood trying to find routers you can jack into so you can sent out a couple million SPAM E-mails) Well, that's what they are for.. And for IT people who need to see where the dead spots are in an office.

I have no need for one, my laptop will tell me what is available and how strong.
