Out with the old and in with the new.

Replaced both the front set and the bedroom set. I'll get to the outside set later.

Did it all myself. Built in custom backing and the sets look perfect. I built my own filler plate to cover the gap left in the change from 4:3 to 16:9. Nothing like the feeling of doing some things yourself.

So the front room now has a 32" to replace the old HEAVY 27" and the bedroom has a new 24" in place of the old 19".

Somewhere here is a post (with pictures) about the bolt mounts breaking out of the back of the TV from too much vibration. I suppose that is why specialty RV televisions are now sold, so they will withstand the road stress' and the flex in the articulating mounts.
I have plans to do as you, but waffling on whether to buy the specialty RV units (about 50% higher) or standard household.

I read that too. That is why I went with the lightest LED set I could find.I also used rubber isolators to help absorb vibration. I am sure with a 20+ lb set this would be an issue. When you have a <12 lb set I am sure the four mounting screws and their receiving bolts should handle it.

Here is what I had to do to reinforce the back of the TV after driving with it and seeing how much it vibrated. I sort of pictured it breaking loose and falling in my lap at 60 mph.

As requested. I should have taken photos of the entire process but when I get rolling I rarely stop.

Front Before:

Front After:

Up Close:

Side view: Getting it that close was challenging. Proper measurements are obviously key.

Back before:

Back after:

Back in viewing position: I left the bottom open to install a Blu-ray player since there were no provisions in this coach to have one in the rear.

A bad picture showing some of the woodwork in the back for mounting:

We got this; You might have salved my concerns enough to re-consider replacing our old tube TV's with LED TV's. Your pictures gave me enough ideas to design mounts in our 5er. Thanks.

Email me if you want. I did a ton of research and learned a lot of little tricks when installing these. Everything from vibration isolation to cosmetics.

I told my wife I gave the RV a 100 lb diet. All that weight in that overhead. I about blew out my spleen lifting it out of there.

I am in the middle steps of replacing my sharp flat screen 26" with a Sony 32 LED. After removing the 26 flat screen I have decided to use the same factory plate that monaco used. I have marked out two small vents I need to cut in the plate, and to also enlarge the current hole for the connections. I will be removing approx 6 square inches of material. I also have to redrill the TV to plate mounting holes. Once all this is done I will reverse install the TV. I am also going to flip the facing trim and reuse it with a couple of mods. On the org install, Monaco had added a 3/4 strip (spacer) the old tv set on that. I have to remove this spacer so the TV will now sit on the base of the cabinet. I am going to install a strip of rubber mat on the bottom to help with any vibs. The other issue I have run into is the coach came with two lights mounted in the base cabinet. I had to remove them and I will expanded the exsisting light holes so that the sound will come through. As luck would have it, the TV speakers are located on the bottom of the set and they are right above these holes. I will use speaker cloth (If I can still find it to cover the holes) if all else fells I will by a couple of used speakers at goodwill to get the cloth. If the speakers do not produce good sound I will install a power "sound Bar" under the entire TV unit. I have taken a couple of pics and I will try to post them when I am done.

Nice job! I did something similar in my coach except that I cut the sidewalls and the bottom of the front tv box frame back by about 4 inches.
