I just got a new Kindle Fire. Aside from the usual books, magazines is anyone aware of any other uses that might fit into our RV style of life?

if you have access to wifi at a campground, library, or other spot you can access the web for whatever you need the web for. Search for camping world locations, search for local eateries, etc. Of course all of this is also available ffrom most modern cell phones. I have a Nook Color and mostly use it to read books but also play games, search the web, check email.

Thanks Tom. I am slowly getting to use it more. I spent some time today with an Amazon tech on the phone and got a lot of my questions answered. I plan on trying the wi-fi internet, probably tomorrow.
I have wi-fi at home, but found that I loose some of the power from one end of the house to the other with the Kindle, but not with my lap top. This makes me wonder how effective the wi-fi will be at a campground. But then I remember when we had to step out side of the RV go 10 steps to the left and 15 to the right to get any cell phone reception.
I am well pleased with the reading abilities. I had thought that I could borrow from local town libraries but am finding out that very few towns have the capabilities yet, but some are working on them. For example, I have no luck in rural Northeastern Ct, but right next door in Massachusetts it is a common thing at a library.

I just got on the internet today. I followed all of the instructions for the product and couldn't do it correctly. Finally called the help line and got straightened out by the tech. Works good on wi-fi now.
Next I am going to see how to download pictures.
Trying something new every day.
