Hi ALL:
Tech illiterate here needs to ask for help from folks who know.
Pch'd coach in Dec. 07, an 08 model w. a King Dome. During travels from AZ, up through S.D., MN., and down to FL. we encountered random, and somewhat frequent loss of sat. connection requiring that we re-boot control panel by physically disconnecting (unplugging) phone jack type plug, waiting a minute, and re-inserting. Sometimes this worked, sometimes it required 2 or 5 attempts. While at manufacturers plant for warranty work in Sept. of 08, got on phone w. King Dome in Mpls. and they talked us through a couple of re-programming procedures, which appeared to solve the problem, BUT....we're waiting out winter down here in FL, AND...it's happening again. Turn on T.V., and Direct TV logo is scrolling like a screen saver back and forth across screen. No amt. of waiting works, and ONLY way to re-establish sat. connection is AGAIN to try unplugging and re-plugging that phone type jack into control panel (to re-boot). ANYONE HAVE IDEAS, OR SUGGESTIONS?? Thanks. Steve & Lynette

Chickadee,
I've had success with hitting the red re-set button on the receiver or just pulling the card out and re-inserting it.

Jim & BJ: Yeah, we've been pulling cord and re-inserting, but it's a hassel accessing it and then we're worried that frequent unplugging and pluggin will eventually break that connection...it just isn't right. Will try the red button idea for awhile. Thanks Steve

Don't know if this will help you any, but I had my king dome installed at Camping World in Tampa, FL....using my own Direct TV receiver that I took out of the house. I have not once had a problem with the King Dome since they installed it a year ago. If you are close to Tampa, it might help to go by there and see them.

We have Directv in house and motorhome. The receivers at home never seem to need a signal "refresh" from Directv because of the frequent use. In the motorhome I need to call Directv every month or so to have them send a fresh signal down to the receiver. It only takes a couple of minutes and is good for another month or so. (I can also do it myself on the internet if I am connected). Can't explain this but I am used to it now. Try it....
