King Dome repair parts source?

I was trying to hook up my sat receiver to my KingDome but it wouldn't lock on. Finally gave up and talked to the technical support at the factory, great guys by the way, and they determined that the antenna wasn't communicating with the receiver. We went through several steps of trouble shooting until I had to remove the dome cover.

With the cover removed I found two small coax leads, RG 174, 179 or 180, with what appears to be F connectors had been crushed by the antenna when it was moving around. Tech support didn't seem much interested in selling parts. It appears that all repairs are done in house.

I can't imagine these cables would be very expensive as they longest one was only about two feet long. I would rather fix it than replace it.

Anybody out there know where I could source something like this? If this doesn't fix it and it's a circuit board then I'd have to consider replacement.

Most likely a TV or Electronics Equip., Repair shop can make you a couple of cables.
Connectors can also be found in large or most Hardware stores or Radio Shack stores.

Raw materials and tools to make up your own mini-coax is not very common. The cost to get the cable, connectors and specialized tools would way exceed the cost of a premade cable. You can get a pre-made assembly from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/C2G-Cables-400...426V323GHFVPBF

Or a set of 5 - 24" jumpers from Solid Signal. Sonora Design Bundle of (5) Color-Coded 24 Fixed Pin Jumpers for SWM Input (5mJFP24) from Solid Signal

This would at least allow you to see if the coax is really the problem, before you spend more money on it.

Mageksl,

Were you able to find the parts you need?

I am the service manager at KING, and we do allow customers to replace parts on their KING Domes, but replacing certain cables may not be recommended.

Please call me at 952-345-8151 or e-mail chris.waples@kingconnect.com, and I will get you the part you need.

Thanks
