Is there good 12V while the dish is moving? Which King Dome? Dish or Direct? What receiver? Where was the receiver last used, home, tripod, different RV?

Well Gang,
This is interesting reading because we recently purchased an Itasca with the KindDome on it. Now, we tried it at home, hooked up to a borrowed "working" receiver from Direct TV. Well, it, the motorhome, was under a cover and it would not lock onto any sat. Since then, we've only tried it at one camp ground and there was so many large buildings and trees around, it would not pick anything up there too. So, at this point, we have no clue how to get it to work, then link it to the receiver etc. Sorry, don't mean to hi-jack the OPs thread here, I just thought it was related.

I recently purchased a 2002 Andventurer with a Kingdome. It would not lock on to any satellites either. I spoke to the guys at King Controls in tech support. They were very helpful. I ended up renting a keypad which enabled me to do some various testing. There is a document with an easy to follow flow diagram that walks you through all the tests.

I found I had a bad coax cable. I replaced the cable and then continued with the tests. I then discovered the dish was set up for Direct TV instead of Dish Network. I changed to Dish network and everything is now working perfectly.

So call King Controls at 952-922-6889. You will probably have to leave a message but they call you back pretty quickly!

The problem is not locking in on a satalite, but not staying running long enough to lock in, runs about 10-15 seconds and shuts down

That sounds like a power issue but you should go up and remove the dome to see if the antenna is moving in all directions without issue or is something is stopping it.

I had a problem with my 9704LP so I rented the "keypad" to test the system. It test just about everything. In my case it showed that I lost programming so I re-programmed and everything was fine. Decided to keep the keypad for fees charged.

Glad I did because I just switched to Dish and had to reprogram again.

So, After basic power checks, re-check your programming.

If it is a power issue (measure as close to the control board as possible) might be a bad connection:

One thing I advise All Dome owners to do is put a simple A/B switch (Run about a buck on the Google store) in each LNB line, connected as follows

A: the dome up A=bove on the roof
B: A ground B-lock or B-ulkhead (Through wall) Connector down B-elow where you can hook up a dish on a tripod.

Why Do I advise this (And carrying the dish) Well, because of the evil signal eating tree or signal blocking building.

Oh, always hook un and unhook the ground dish with the switch in the "A" position. That way if you accidently short something.. no damage.
