I do not know how to search for topics yet. I suppose this question has already been answered. If you could either direct me there or supply the answer, I would appreciate it.
I have switched from Dish to Direct TV. I used to take one of the Dish receivers and connect it to the coax to the Kingdome Model 0902 (2001 model) and it worked fine. Manual says that it had to be programed for Dish. Do I now need to have it reprogrammed for the Direct TV? It would not find a satellite at my first outing. It would never stop searching.

Yes! The Kingdome does need reprogramming when you switch from Dish to Direct providers and back the other way. Look for your manual for the Kingdome or go on line and grap the manual. Info should be listed on what to do. You will need to use a "special" gadget that only programmers seem to have. Once this is completed your Direct receiver will work with the Kingdome.
Best of luck!

All automatic Sat-TV antennas Dome or Dish, so long as they are automatic, need to be told which satellite to look for.. Dish is 101, Direc is 110, 119 and optionally I think 127 (For most of the country) So when you change,,, You change.
NOTE: no dome does DirecHDTV, SD only,, but you can use a ground mount (or other dish) for HD.
NOTE 2: I recommend a low cost A/B switch, I think it's the RCA VH-71 if you google ANTENNA SWITCH) runs 1-2 dollars plus S&H, in the LNB line
A goes to the dome up A-bove
B goes to either a B-ulkhead or B-asement connection down B-elow,, Makes it real easy to switch from Roof to tripod (hook up tripod, slide switch, reset (DirecTF) the receiver, aim and good to view)

If you call King Controls, they will "loan" you the programmer for a $200 deposit. When it arrives, call King Controls and they will walk you thru the procedure for programming the dome. When you are done, return the programmer and they will refund your deposit.

Since I do not have a HD TV in the coach will I have any problem with the HD receiver / DVR. We were able to watch our recorded programs just fine.

No need to reprogram their dish. However, the settings must be set correctly on the receiver. When I get a chance I will try it out. We are back from our trip.

As it turns out my Kingdome does not need to be programmed from Dish to Direct TV. The Direct receiver must be set up as follows: The dish type = 01: Round 18" / Switch Type = 02: Multiswitch then the transponder needs to be set to 19. Once this was done the Kingdome found the proper satellite.
The people at King Controls were very helpful in providing the above information.
