leadfoot3,
Perhaps if you re-phrased your question you would get a response. It's OK to use shorthand and cryptic notes, so long as the MEANING is clear.

Sorry if this offends you, but your question is not clear. I am sure there are members who want to help you... and WILL help you, once they understand what you are asking.
Take care,
Jim

If you own your motor home second hand there is a good possibility that there was a kvh as original equipment. The "upgrade" may not require the switch, which most likely was the 12v supply for the motors in an automatic sat dish. Hope this helps, I am no expert.

the sat dish has been changed but you have to turn the kvh switch on to activate the winegard dish..............maybe it was easier to not rewire the winegard......the coach is new to me..........second hand

When I changed my kvh to winegard, I fished the new power supply line and replaced the kvh switch with the new winegard switch. You need a power supply to the dish but rather than running the new wire and switch they prob spliced in the new harness end to the old wire to hook into the new dish, but yes you need the switch, sounds like they just cut a few corners.
