KVH dome replacement

The KVH L2 in-motion sat dome on our '04 Dolphin is kaput. I'm looking at replacing it with a KVH R6 or a Winegard MiniMax, both aare in-motion. I'm pretty handy, so I'm planning on installing it myself. Anyone have any experience with either of these, they'd like to share?

I purchased a new Bounder in 2008 and factory ordered a
KVH TRACVISION R4SL.
Trouble from the start began with dish network trying to get it to work on their 2 stas. to no avail. KVH sent me a preprogrammed 311 receiver that worked but could not record and a DVR would not work on this unit. KVH told me that I could get free HD software upgrade for free if I would go to their authorized dealer. the dealers would NOT program it because of previous horror stories trying with no success.

Suffice it to say Winegard is my choice for product compatibility and ease of service and programming.
