My 24" tv dosen't have a digital tuner so when at a c/g without cable hook up it dosen't work for TV stations. Has anyone replaced there old TV with a new LCD TV and if so how did you mount it in the box for the TV? Because the base sticks out in front of the LCD TV I guess it will have to be taken off. The TV is so thin it will fall over with out the stand.

Why not just add a digital converter box to the set for 25/50 dollars.
That's what I did for both my sets, sure was a lot easier.

The flat screen tvs have mounting holes on the back, intended for use with VESA-standard mounting brackets but usable with home made wood or metal mounts too. I replaced both my tvs with LCDs and merely bolted them to a wooden cross brace that I screwed to the sides of the cabinet. Some people use swing out arms and others use wall mounts instead.
Yes, the base comes off.

Anything will work, but one of the favorites is the Digital Stream DTX-9950 because it's small, has a Pass-thru mode, and an excellent scan and channel display mode.

Do a search on this Forum for "LCD", or "TV conversion", or similar. There are lots of contributions with pictures and ideas that may help you figure out what to do. I have my project among the contributions.
