8939839 - BestBuy

I can't pick up channels at home. It's from 05 before hd stuff got big. I called Best Buy and they said the converter will definately work. They also recomended this indoor antenna which they thought would do better with picking up digital channels depending on the quality of the existing antenna. Any thoughts on this product?

For my motorhome, I just use the bat wing antennae and the converter.

The converter sounds like a winner. If anything, I may try the wingman add on piece

The signal strength I see with my MH is much less than what it was with my 5er. With the 5er, I saw 70s, with the MH, I see 40s. The picture is the same and no drop outs. Everything else is the same. TV, antennae, converter, inverter, etc. Don't know. Don't care. It works.

Try it without the wingman first. Why spend the money if you don't need to.

That's what I meant. I'll get the converter first... If I can't get the Playboy channel - I'm gonna shell out the extra 30 bux for the wingman

I get the Playboy channel with two sticks and a coat hanger... and one of the sticks is broken.

dunner:

I found my old owner's manual for the batwing crankup antenna. It says to lube the elevating gear with silicone spray lube. Also lube the bearing surface between the gear housing and base plate (silicone). Also lube the rubber quad ring on elevating shaft. This could keep it from getting brittle and leaking down the shaft.

Sorry, to dumb to cut and paste, or scan.

Don't know what the quad ring is. If it moved, it got lubed. I had the inside stuff apart on my 5er after the handle fell off. Lubed it too.

Welp, I fixed the leak...
Where the cord goes through the roof, there is a rubber seal cover that covers the hole and seals it on the mounting bracket. The rubber piece was simply not connected, so I pushed it back into place
