Light switching using smart phones
We have a new 2016 Tuscany with many led lights with many switches to control them. Does anyone make a smart phone or tablet controlled switching kit that can be installed as a replacement or addition to the manual switches?
Thanks
Ed

I've heard of ones for 120 volts but none for 12 Volts which most RV lights work on.

The only ones I have heard about for coaches require that the systems be pre-wired and only one of those can be controlled by something like an iPad or smart phone. Tiffin uses a system (Spyder Controls) that replaces the traditional wall switches with touch panels and I believe it is used in all models.

I think you could use this device "Wemo Maker" to do what you want. It would take a bit of technical knowledge and tinkering. It is designed to control ANY low voltage device up to 24 watts. Uses Wifi and an app for your smartphone or tablet for control.

The insteon I/O Linc is another option. It has relay contacts that you wire to any low voltage load you wish to turn off or on. This module does require 120vac for the control circuitry, so you would power it from the inverter...it is not my first choice since it also needs a "smart hub" to control it. Only one hub required for as many modules as you want though.

all these options sound like a ton of work to replace a simple wall switch.

Pasdad1 might have just cost me $79!!
I just read a review on the Wemo Maker, and the guy said he used it to wire his garage door opener to allow him to open and close it from anywhere in the world. Rather useless really. BUT it also allowed him to wire a device to automatically notify him if he left his garage door open, and THEN he could close it from anywhere. Peace of mind for those of us who sometimes wonder if we remembered to close the garage door.
It might be possible to set up to lock and unlock the coach door remotely. Years ago a friend showed me how he created a keyless entry for his coach. This might make it easier. That would be handy coming home in the rain.

There are many remote wireless light switches available, such as this one

Short answer YES. but it may depend on the lights and/or the phone.
For example.. My samsung S-5 has an IR emitter (do not know if it has a receiver) and there is an app that can replace nearly (if not) all the I/R remotes in this RV.. I have tried it with TV's. Radios'. DVR's have not tried the air contidioners yet. Do not have remote operated lights though.
The S-III I used to use did not have this feature.
