You tell them that you want to change your Service Address. You can Google "Labelle, FL zip code" and find your zip code or you can get it from the campground literature.

This. Plus, do not mention the term RV anytime during the discussion. It blows their mind. They go into meltdown mode because mentioning an RV seems to take them off their pre-planned scripts.

Just tell them you are in your vacation home.

Although we have a roof top King Dome and a DirecTV subscription... we simply use the Winegard batwing antenna on our coach for viewing the available OTA, (over the air), "local stations"... (wherever/whenever we park, camp or stop for the night).

I doubt OTA is available in LaBelle. You will need more than a zipcode. If your in a park, use the park address. Simply tell DirecTV that this is your "service address" as previously mentioned. Also tell them that the equipment is already installed and working or they will want to send out an installer. You will probably get the Ft. Myers locals. Chuck

If your receiver is from your home, you can change your service address as has been mentioned, then you can change it back when you go back north. Just be aware, if anyone is still back at your stick house, they will loose their locals.

If you use DirecTV in your RV only (you are either full-time or have cable at home), you can change your account to an RV account and apply for distant network service (DNS). There is a sticky at the top of this forum with the form needed for DNS. You will get broadcast channels from either New York if your original service address is in the Eastern or Central Time Zone or from LA if it's in Mountain of Pacific Time.

Kimbo,

I am in Labelle also, at Riverbend Motorcoach Resort. I have DTV and use the over the air antenna for network stations. You will receive all them here. If you're here at Riverbend stop by lot 90 and say hello.

I receive a number of OTA TV stations in LaBelle Fl using the batwing antenna on my coach... (none of which are "local" to LaBelle).

I always call Dish and have the locals changed to wherever I'm at but about 90% of the time they change my Billing address to. Next thing you know your past due because your bill was sent to where you traveled too. Auto Pay takes care of that but it's something to check.

Give them Toms River Yacht Club, Toms River, NJ, 08757

You will get the NY, ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX networks, everywhere in the country.

LaBelle is about 20 miles from the transmitters serving the Fort Myers DMA. And Florida is FLAT. Good OTA reception there.

The metro NY city area used the DNS signal as there regular signal.

We only loose PBS, METV and a few other real local channels.
