LowClearances.com - any using with Good Sam 7735?

I just bought the Good Sam 7735 GPS and after reading the manual and emailing Rand McNally it appears this doesn't have low clearance warnings, or if it does it doesn't work well. It does allow me to put in the height of my rv but I put in a higher height and drove under several passes without any warnings at all. I found LowClearances on line and it looks like a simple upload. Anyone tried it?

I doubt that any GPS will issue a warning if/when you are heading for an overpass that is to high.

Ok...correction...I raised the height of my rv to 13'6' rather than 12'6" and am not getting warnings under low overpasses.

What height are the low ones? Trucks usually are 13.6 high. Interstates are 16 unless marked lower, but always over 13.6.
You can run into issues on some county and city roads, but they are not without proper signs. NJ and Chicago are places with very old roads. Watch for "local truck route signs". Raise it to over 16 and try again.
I have traveled much of the lower 48 and Canada without any issues in the last 24 years. Only had one issue on a one-lane dirt road going under a rail bed that I had no business being on. But it was properly marked!

I have Low Clearances.com loaded on my 7720. I haven't received a warning for the road I have been on, but it has shown some low clearances on side roads that I have passed.

I've used lowclearances.com POI info in my regular Garmin & TomTom GPS for years. I don't pay extra for an RV model - just load the date myself. I get warnings whenever I approach a low bridge (I intentionally set the warming a bit high).

The trouble with any of this is that they don't seem to use the clearance info in routing, so you can still get stuck in front of a low bridge and have to find an alternate. Maybe the GS RV model does (it's a Rand McNally, I think), but any data you add via lowclearance.com does not get used in planning a route.

I have been using the Garmin 660. I put all my measurements in and it will route me around low clearances. I also use the Rand McNally trucker atlas.

POI = Points of Interest = the coordinates of any location worth remembering.

There are zillions of possibilities, so it is worthwhile to choose the ones that interest YOU, rather than a generic set chosen by the GPS maker. The website POI Factory (poifactory.com) has an incredible array of choices.

I tried LowClearances.com on an old Tom Tom GPS. The problem was that it gave low-clearance warnings on anywhere near where we were, not just on the road we were driving! Not a problem out in the boonies but in a rural area it will drive you nuts! Don't know if it's still that way or not!

I have a RM 7730 and it will not route me to my destination when an underpass lower than my height setting when it is the only route there. It will offer an alternate route when there is one. Does the same for overweight. It will not complete my route when the destination is on a military installation either. I must set the destination at an entrance gate/guard post, then use my paper map.
