Measure Voltage Output From Satellite?

Maybe a stupid question, but can you get a voltage reading from a satellite dish? If so, what magnitude is it?
I have some extra cables in my unit, and I want to make sure which is the output from my roof mounted dish without doing the extra work of opening the dome.
Thanks.

I don't know a lot about these, but I don't believe the dish produces any measurable voltage by itself. The LNB on the dish is powered by the receiver. (Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong)

I would use a tone generator and probe to find the correct cable.

No, you will not be able to trace a cable from the dome to the inside of the coach based upon voltage. You can short the cable on the roof and then use a meter to find the shorted cable inside or use any number of commercial coax tracing products (or make your own).

What would be wrong with just connecting your sat. receiver to each cable and checking signal strength?

It's the other way around. There is voltage coming from the receiver going up to the dish to power LBN. You can measure it at the dish, but be careful you don't short out the center conductor to the shield. There might be a fuse in the receiver you could blow.

I think bluepill has the easiest way of doing it.
