Microsoft Streets & Trips

Tried to locate an updates to my MS S&T only to find out that Microsoft is no longer supporting it. The advisory indicated that I should switch to Bing maps.
I haven't tried it yet but I wonder if the GPS Dongle will work with Bing. One of the great things about this program was no requirement for WIFI because of the dongle.
IF you didn't know, now ya do. If you did know, are you using Bing w/ the Dongle?

I cannot find a way to use the GPS dongle with Bing maps. S&T 2013 appears to be latest version and still works and I use it for trip planning while on the road. I still use S&T 2011 for trip planning at home. But, I also use Google maps and Bing maps extensively for trip planning. While on the road, I use Garmin Nuvi GPS and GPS apps on smartphone. All are useful and each has its advantages. Sad to see S&T go but with advent of smartphones it was inevitable. Over time, the older versions of S&T will become outdated but will still work.

Is there another program similar to S&T that works on a PC, or on a mobile device that allows saving and printing? On our trips DW uses her IPad when we are moving to check where we are and locate RV parks for the evening, which is great. But I like to use S&T, with the big POI file, before we leave to map out a route and locate fuel stops and rest areas. For longer trips I will print the route listing with the mileages and POI's I want so I can tell how far before fuel or a pit stop.

Not 100% sure if this will do what you need, but I would have thought that it would come close. Street Atlas USA with USB GPS Receiver Bundle - DeLorme

Thanks Joe and Danes. DeLorme Street Atlas looks like it should work. At only $40 worth a try, and I can see if the USB GPS I have for S&T works with it.

I have been using Delorme SA since 05-06 and have bought almost every yr since. Works great on a Microsoft Surface Pro running Win 8.1.
