We've just finished a multi-month, 4,000+ mi trip using these radios and were very happy with them. I have a complete review on my blog if you're interested in more details.

The license information is included in every radio box shipped. All that is required is to read the information in the box. The manual tells which channels are restricted by license.

Thanks for adding the comments regarding licensing -- should have included it in my original information; I'll update my review shortly.
