We are at the Golden Isles RV park in Brunswick, GA. I tuned on the MiFi and put it in the top compartment over the computer station in our motorhome. I've been on-line for almost an hour. Colleen in the back of the rig watching TV and browsing on her iTouch and checking her GMail and Facebook.
I am not experiencing any speed degradation from the USB727 that I was running. My IT environment all of a sudden got a lot simpler.
So far this thing is working great!
Q out there for folks using the 2500 ?? How long does the battery last?

4-5 hrs here per charge while using. Longer when in standbye only.
We need to compare notes when you get to Wilderness. Service seemed to degrade here. See you then.

Excellent service here in Brunswick, GA. I have issues getting my cell phone to work in Wilderness and I don't expect that the WiFi will be "rocking" the Internet from Silver Springs.

We are currently at Ft Wilderness and I get .91 mb/s download and .40 mb/s upload. About normal for me. I will be interested to see if anybody else is getting better results. I use the MiFi 2200 not the 2500.

The Mifi's are nice but they don't have an external antenna port...My usb760 does and with my cradlepoint wireless router..external antenna and amp, I can pull the fringe areas without a problem...

Had ours for almost 2 years now. Tend to leave it plugged in most times but a recent battery check yielded about 3 1/2 hours. Have had the unlimited data plan for 4 years now, but rarely bump the 5 GB level of the newer plans. Wouldn't trade it for the others. So nice and compact where space is at a premium.
safe travels

We also have the 2200. Currently getting .41mb/s download speed and .27 mb/s upload. Not exactly screeming. It's better when we leave the park and travel down 75.

This MiFi is great- . I also have the 2200.
I can tether it to the USB port of my computer and use the wireless function of the computer to connect to my printer- It's super! I use an adhoc network connection for the wireless to the printer- no router required.
Mike, can't you run a 120ac outlet up to your cabinet and then just leave it plugged in all the time?
Anyone seen a laptop being made (built in) with two (or more) 802.11 b,g or n networks? I thought I read about one someplace but I can't find it.

I use my MiFi 2200 as Jackrobinryan does. Had it for about a year, much much better than my previous setup.

I just set up a MiFi for a friend with a laptop, desktop, TV, and wireless printer.
The MiFi acts as a router and painlessly connected all three items together in a network with WPA security. I did have to run the printer connection software.
The network was set up before using a Hughes sat modem and a Linksys router. While tethered to the desktop during the set up process, the Mifi picked up and used the old network password.
Until now I did not realize that some TVs contain simple browsers and wireless capability. I must be getting behind the curve!

I also have used the MiFi 2200 for almost two years with a Wilson amp and Wilson Trucker antenna with great results. My question, whats the difference in the 2200 and 2500? Thanks.

Just curious how you use an external antenna and an amp with the mifi...Unless something has changed, the mifi doesn't have an external antenna port...I would get one if it did as I am in a fringe area...Driver corrected the original post to the 2200 not 2500...

Cell Phone Antennas and Cell Phone Boosters at Wilson Electronics
This is what I use. It simply attaches to the MiFi with velcro. I've been in areas with no bars and it will increase the strength to three and even four sometimes.
