All right you Geeks out there. I want to set up my Class A as a mobil office. I have a laptop, PC, broadband card, trio Sprint phone and a multi function fax, copier, printer and scanner. How do I set up the fax to work with my laptop and broadband card or is this not possible? Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Thanks, but I was hoping to use the services I am already paying for without subscribing to another one. I guess I could scan and use something like Winfax, but that would be a last option. Is there a way to use my broadband card, laptop and fax as one system?

thing is, your fax equipment is analog and your cellular broadband is digital.
i doubt there are any phone jacks to plug you fax machines phone line into on your data card or cell phone.

Yes this can be done. I have sent a fax while being hooked up via my cell phone, with my 3 in one LexMark printer. Of course I couldn't leave it connected all the time,it would use up all my minutes on the cell phone.

Thanks Joe,
So you found an adapter or cord to hook up your cell phone to your printer, is that correct. I guess the cell could double as a modum. If so where did you find it? Radio Shack or web?

Movinout,my phone is the remote modem. The printer is hooked to the computer. Everything operates as though you are on a land line. Use the computer to work the fax machine. It did take a little work getting use to how to do it. Where I used the phone, you will have the air card.

Thanks Joe,
I think I can make that work. I do have a broadband "air card" on my computer, so I am thinking there must be a way to use that and eliminate the phone entirely. Just thinking out loud.

I know you have said not to eFax but, you get unlimited faxes in and a whatever number out you want to purchase. Also, the incoming go to your email as a PDF attachment so you can receive them 24/7. You can send email attachments as faxes.
I don't know what the printing cost savings would be but, not having to be connected to get a fax is great and not having to print it off too.
I've used it for many years without fail.
Downside is scanning for anything outgoing that isn't electronic or has to be signed.
