Hello folks, I'm wondering what is a good software package to run on a laptop for monitoring engine and associated systems. I have a 2011 Serrano 31V which came with a very basic dash board cluster. I'm one of those who would prefer to moitor my engine and systems performace a lot closer.

Silverleaf makes a product called VMSpc which many of us use. It plugs into the chassis diagnostic port. I run it on a netbook mounted on my dash. I'm not familiar with your chassis but the Silverleaf website would probably tell you if it was covered.

Best of luck.

My 8V-71, the engine that won WW2, has no way to monitor sans individual monitors.

There are a number of good OBDII plugins. There is one gent on here (I believe) that will preprogam one for your needs. He has an RV service place in CA IIRC.

Here it is - http://www.oemys-performance.com/scantools.htm

Here is a website that has all kinds of items for a carPC, including OBD II interfaces. Most interfaces come with a "starter" program. OBD 2 Scan Tools OBDLink, OBDLink SX, OBDLink Bluetooth, OBDLink Wifi

CentraFuse Auto is primarily designed for a touch screen carPC but will work fine on a laptop and has a setup for gauges for OBD II.

Why bother with PC software? A dedicated ODBII gauge is now fairly cheap:
UltraGauge Automotive Information Center and OBDII Scan Tool
I just received this gauge, but have not had it long enough to give a review.

The VMSpc is for diesel engines only, it appears the OP has a gas engine.

If you want to start cheep - look for Elm 327 on Ebay. Got mine with USB interface for under $20. Comes with several free programs. Some have upgrades if you like them. Still playing with mine and nothing good or bad to report.

OK, soory for the confusion I might have caused!!

Not sure if SilverLeaf has anything for the MaxForce yet, but you might check with them and see. I downloaded a new vesion of the software and there were some notes about new engines being added. I'm at work now so I can't look at my laptop right now.

Thanks Mr_D. I sent an email to Oemys OBDII Monitor tools. His reply indicated that he had nothing at this time, but would drop me a note if and when he did. Could this be because the coach is so new? In my usual newbie way I didn't realize the software would be quite so specific.
